Carbon Disclosure Project

Carbon Disclosure Project

We have responded to the Carbon Disclosure Project survey since 2006, disclosing details of how we manage our greenhouse gas footprint. The Carbon Disclosure Project is an independent not-for-profit organisation holding the largest database of primary corporate climate change information in the world. The Carbon Disclosure Project puts such information at the heart of financial and policy decision-making.

Carbon Trust Standard

Carbon Trust Standard

Two Arriva businesses have been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard for significantly reducing their carbon footprint. Arriva UK Bus has reduced its carbon emissions by 4 per cent over the past 3 years, equivalent to almost 20 thousand tonnes of CO2e*, through investment in fleet modernisation, bio-fuels, and the EcoManager driver aid system. Action to cut energy usage at Arriva Trains Wales’ depots and offices has seen a 0.5 per cent reduction in carbon emissions over the past 3 years, the equivalent to more than 50 tonnes of CO2e. ATW estimates that its Eco-Driving Programme has potentially saved more than 1,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide since the scheme launched. *CO2e refers to units of "carbon dioxide equivalent".
